The legend of the Geese of Campidoglio is very famous, narrated by Tito Livio, about Rome’s siege by the Gauls of 390 b.C. “They were already climbing the walls, when with great rattles the geese, well awake, awoke the Capitol’s Guardian Marco Manlio. Then Manlio called the roman soldiers, who, fighting with great energy, rejected the Gauls: in this way the Capitol was freed by the barbarians and Rome was saved from the noise of the geese”.
In the Greek mythology the goose is the symbolic expression of vitality, fertility and strength, it is associated to myths such as Apollo, Aphrodite and Hermes.
